The International Red Cross is no longer making regular visits, and attorney visits have been greatly cut back due to the need to quarantine at either end of a visit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/1qT2S_8JYH5QOa_rlxqFTm81VI1qRNCDRnCc7oY0-ivc\/edit#gid=0\">here<\/a> to sign up to write a letter to a prisoner.  A letter template is provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justsecurity.org\/72367\/toward-a-new-approach-to-national-and-human-security-close-guantanamo-and-end-indefinite-detention\/\">recent piece<\/a> in <em>Just Security<\/em>:<br>Many of the 40 men are torture survivors, some of them formerly disappeared at \u201cblack sites\u201d before being sent to Guantanamo. All of them have been exposed to the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cvt.org\/sites\/default\/files\/Final%20Amicus%20Brief-4.Jan%202018.pdf#page=10\" target=\"_blank\">physical and psychological trauma<\/a>\u00a0associated with prolonged indefinite detention. They are also aging rapidly and\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cvt.org\/DeprivationandDespair\" target=\"_blank\">increasingly exhibiting<\/a>\u00a0complex medical conditions that staff at Guantanamo are not equipped to manage, such as severe coronary vascular disease, complex post-traumatic stress disorder, and traumatic brain injury.
